Ladies, this is a ';personal'; question - please advice!?

Ladies please could i have some advice. This is a ';hard to ask'; question, so please could I not have any rude remarks.

I think i have a dose of ';thrush'; in my female area. And i am really worried about this. I sort of know its nothing overly bad - i.e its treatable. But, obviously the Doctors arent open until the bank holiday weekend is out - so i would just like some ladies to answer me a couple of questions, because since it popped into my mind this morning ive not been able to stop thinking about it.

A - does it effect fertility (Im sorry if this is a silly question)

B - Could i pass it to my partner?

C:What are the symptoms. My ';area'; is a little smellier than normal, also quite itchy.

Thanks in advance :)Ladies, this is a ';personal'; question - please advice!?
I feel sorry for you! I've had it before and it is NOT pleasant.

Okay:

It doesn't affect fetility, no worries there!

You CAN pass it to a partner unfortunately. and it's not pleasant for men either

Sypmtons include: redness of the vagina, lots of itchiness, little clumps of white gooey stuff (can be described as like cottage cheese....)

You should try and get it checked out by a doctor if you can (they usually don't examine you if what you describe is thrush, so no worries)

but if you can't, buy Canesten Duo, works a treat. It comes with a little pill and an inserter, which you push into your vagina, sounds weird but really works, then it has some cream that soothes the redness and itchiness.

Tip: after inserting the pill, wear a panty liner because there is some discharge from the pill, nothing to worry about, just the remains after it breaks down.

Hope it gets better and I hope it helped.Ladies, this is a ';personal'; question - please advice!?
always glad to help!

It does not affect fertility but can affect your bladder and the passing of your urine, A2 your partner can contract itchiness and swelling, A3 the symptoms you have listed are correct, by the way i am a male sorry for answering your question after you requested it be female but i liked biology at school.
try boots pharmacy for an ever the counter perscription doen not effect fertility if treated quickly enough and just abstain from intercourse just to be on the safe side
Yer you do get a smell as it is a yeast infection

not sure about fertility but dont think so and yes i think you can spread it on

you can buy canesten and stuff from tesco etc
the doctors r open i have a doctors appointment tommorow lol thats the only reason i know theyre open, u can buy canesten duo from a chemist anyway and it works great and no it doesnt effect fertility yes u can pass it to ur partener so rub the cream onto his penis when ur putting it on urself and the symtoms are itching a little swelling and discharge like cream cheese (its the only way i can describe it hon) and its just plain bloody annoying
I am not a Lady but hopefully will be able to help you, Thrush is an infection that will not affect your fertility apart from making you not want to have intercourse.

Go to your chemist you will find chemists open on Bank holidays look in your local paper and buy Canes-tan duo it consists of a pessary and cream and that should give you some relief until you can see your GP
Hello there. As you may realise, this can be quite a shy topic to cover. So first, I would like to introduce myself, I am Dr. Tyler, a Male GP from Nottingham. The problems you appear to be having can be resolved very easily. Moreover, without worrying. This is a very common case with most female patients, and there are certain ways to treat it. I advise you to see your doctor when possible after the weekend is over, but until then, go down to your local supermarket and they should sell some cream which is intended for Thrush. This cream is called Canestan, details on how to apply come with the box, this cream will be good for now.

As you made clear, you would like some questions answered. I hope these answers will calm down your nerves. Thrush does not affect fertility. Thrush is a yeast infection of the external, and sometimes internal Virgina. So you can rest your mind with this. May i ask though, Are you a pregnant woman? As if so, this may be a reason for the itchiness and other problems.

For you next question, Thrush can be passed on to your partner. This may be due to the yeast being transferred from one sexual partner to another. Male thrush can be just as common as female thrush. I recommend that you and your partner have no sexual intercourse until the condition has fully cleared.

For your final question, these symptoms your explain are very common with thrush. Yeast can cause itchiness on the skin and may sometimes become inflamed. These are all common, even the fact of the Virgina smelling more than usual. Daily Washing of the area can lower the smell, whilst the cream can clear the thrush. I hope that all this information helps you, On Tuesday morning, you should call your local doctor and book an appointment. I hope your GP can answer all the questions you require. He will most likely give you some cream on prescription. Either that, or encourage you to keep using the Canestan Cream i recommended earlier. I hope you are now clear from the worrying thoughts, I wish you the best of luck.

Dr Tyler. GP
I don't know specifics about infections, but a strong odor and itching are usually symptoms of an infection of some sort. I doubt it could affect your fertility, unless it is an STD of some sort, or spreads from your vagnia to your uterus/ovaries (which shouldn't happen between now and the next business day). Plus, most STDs that can cause infertility take a long time to do so. I would definitely abstain from sex until you see a doctor, because it may be possible to pass anything you might have to your partner...don't risk it.
It doesn't matter if the doctors are open or not, if you are that worried and just go to the accident and emergency hospital and see them straight away, or go to the chemist and speak with the pharmisist for some special cream, drink plenty of water. Hope you go on alright let me know how things turn out
A No

B Yes

C Yes that's about right

Get yourself to boots tomorrow and get canesten once, it's expensive but it works and keep away from him for a few days.
Thrush is a yeast infection and is caused by internal changes to your body - you can get it if you are run down or it could be hormonal. It can be passed on but it is a low risk, it won't effect your fertility. Go to your local supermarket or chemist tomorrow and buy canesten thrush treatment or something similar to get rid of it - avoid tight clothing and soaps, deodorant etc.
no it doesn't affect fertility

it is perfectly normal to get this, most women do, and it can be caused just by being on the pill, wearing nylon underwear, etc.

It is just a yeast infection. You can buy canestan cream form chemist or tablets or pessaries.

You will probably have white creamy discharge as well if it is thrush.

any chemist or places like superdrug, boots etc will sell the treatment.

Don't be emabarresed it is part of being a woman.

Yes your partner can get it too, and canestan cream will sort him out, but maybe best to avoid sexual contact untill yours is cleared up just so he doesn't get it.
wich infection is it i don't no but all infections are really important i think, and you can as soon as go with your partner to a doctor.
You can buy over the counter infections for yeast infection, which it sounds like. I don't believe it affects fertility. Depending on what ';it'; is, you could pass it on to your partner. Definately see a doc as soon as you can.
go to a pharmacy they will be able to sell you something over the counter to help u. best thing is the oral capsule you swallow Diflucan or Canestan, or you can use canestan pessary. there is also a canestan cream for external use that helps itching while the medication starts working u can use with either the capsule or the pessary. yes your partner could also catch it if u are not using condoms and then when u are better he could reinfect you. symptoms are itching and discharge, if you are not sure have a word to the pharmacist in confidence they will be able to advise you and if any doubt then u should see a doctor to get it confirmed when they reopen. good luck.
No it does not affect fertility. You could pass it on to your partner. And the symptoms are itching, discharge and red skin. You could pay a visit to the pharmacist, even though it is bank holiday, and get the oral thrush tablet and some cream. Cream alone does not seem very effective, but the oral tablet is - mind you, it is quite expensive. You could have it through stress, hormone change, taking anti biotics....

Dont worry about it, it probably wont be the last time you get it, but it is very frustrating and uncomfortable to us ladies.
