I had my first ';serious'; boyfriend at 15. He was 18. He wanted to have sex but I didn't feel I was ready. I finally gave in after we had been dating for 7 months and the day after I turned 16. It was the biggest mistake I've ever made.

I hope you really think this over before you decide to have sex and please talk to your gynecologist. He/she hears it all the time and can help you out (they have a patient/doctor confidentiality thing so your gyno cannot tell your parents if you are scared of that).





If you do decide to have sex, use a condom,sponge, or diaphragm with nonoxyl-9 spermicide. Even if you are on birth control please use a barrier method. This will prevent you from catching any STDs. Most condoms come with this spermicide on them. Just read the box. If he has had sex already with someone else, it is a good idea for him to be tested for STDs anyway.
