I'm about to go two months without a period. I'm not pregnant... I know for a fact because I'm a virgin. But I'm terrified of going to a gynecologist (never been to one before) and I'm not sure what this could be and why I'd be missing my period this way. It's never been irregular before.
What could be some reasons as to why this would be happening?
Again, please no rude or vulgar comments. Thank you.Very, very, very, very personal women's health question but I need some advice?
Well there are a few things that can be the cause of this.
1) Stress- stress plays a major factor in how the body works. if you are under any kind of stress be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual your body reacts
2) Weight loss-if you have lost an abnormal amount of weight and you now weigh around 60-80 lbs you will not menstruate. your body conserves the energy
3) exercise- if you have increased your activity level your body may not menstruate due to the need to conserve energy
4) diet-a poor diet will cause your body to not have the proper nutrients it needs and will then not menstruate
These are only some possibilities. To get a proper picture of what is going on with your own body your best bet is to either go to your family doctor, who can run tests or refer you to a gynecologist.
Technically speaking once you have hit the age of 18 (regardless of if you are have sex or not) you should be going to the gynecologist anyway so they have records of what your ';normal'; body and cell structure is so if there is a change they are able to notice it.

There are many reasons as to why you have irregular cycles -- exercise, weight loss, illness, antibiotic use, etc. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and one of the symptoms is irregular cycles. I've gone a year without a period before (and I wasn't pregnant). Only a doctor could tell you what the reason is behind your irregular cycles.
It depends on your age Hun.
Lots of times, a teenager, usually, doesn't have regular periods all the time. Even adults get that..periods are supposed to be regular..but sometimes it can be off by a month..or two..or maybe Even four or five.
Give it some time, and see how things go.
And a gynecologist may not be that bad! They'll probably just ask you some basic stuff and do a few tests..not necessarily down there..but on your body..and hormones..and then they'll be able to tell you exactly whats wrong:)
Good luck!
STRESS CAN CAUSE A DELAY IN YOUR PERIOD, OR IF YOU ARE A VERY ACTIVE ATHLETE IT WILL DELAY YOUR PERIOD TOO. AS FAR AS SEEING A GYNO, TRY SCHEDULING WITH A FEMALE PHYSICIAN WHO WILL WALK YOU THRU THE PROCEDURE AND WILL BE VERY GENTAL WITH YOU. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. :)
BTW IF YOU AREN'T SEXUALLY ACTIVE DONT SWEAT IT, YOUR PERIOD WILL COME WHEN ITS READY.
Are you stressed?
If you are, try to relax a little more. This can be why you're period was late. Happened to my sister, and she was 16.
sometimes that just happens............i don't get mine till everyyear and a half and nothings wrong
you could be under stress witch can make you skip a period or your diet?
it can caused by stressed u kno. so checj that out
