Honestly, they don't care about tattoos. At all... I mean, some gyms might care but from my PERSONAL experience, not so much.
Education -- some gyms hire you and train you themselves, but you don't get paid as well. You need to establish yourself within the industry by sticking out.
Your best bet is to get a degree (bachelors) in kinesiology or physical therapy and work from there...if this isn't attainable many community colleges offer lower levels that will help jump start.
You can't just base it on what you learn at home, though... you need something behind you.
I believe CPR is also required.
